Pixar: Creative Powerhouse

The Economist had an interesting take on the Pixar animation movie studio and how their unique creative process lends itself to really high quality work - evidenced by hit after hit. The article cites two primary reasons why their creativity is unparalleled: (a) they put people before projects - hiring the right talent first and then letting them brainstorm ideas and (b) they promote extensive collaboration and peer criticism - allowing minor problems to come to the surface before they turn into major crises.

Definitely an interesting approach (one that the company actually borrowed from Toyota of all places) and the short article's worth the read.

Check it out HERE.
